Kit, Chloe & Louise pattern testers – thank you!

**updated**

Okay, I think I’m all set! I’ve got about 30 emails from volunteers to go through. I’m going to chose 6 people, two for each doll. My computer time is up for now so I’m going to have to email everyone later this afternoon or this evening. If you volunteered, thanks so much!! I really really appreciate it!

I’m beginning to think if I ever finish this pattern for Kit, Chloe and Louise it will be a miracle. It’s … More

raggedy

Since I decided to punk out on cooking for Phoebe’s party I had just enough time to squeeze in another present.. this little Miss Raggedy Ann.

I had this idea for her hair — it’s strips of cotton quilted down to wool as a batting — stuck in my head and it was perfect for a Raggedy Ann doll. She’s a little crazy-haired but Phoebe seems pleased. Of course she’ll go after just about anything with a face on it.… More

I had My Friend Mandy when I was a girl and my Mom miraculously held on to her so I have her to hand down to Phoebe but I could not help myself from ebaying this Jenny doll for my dark haired girl. Phoebe loves her. She squeals when she … More

folky girl

I just finished making the first of the dolls from my christmas break sketching session. I stenciled the pattern on the velvet skirt. I was so excited about this part. There were supplies to get and paint colors to pick out. The design was going to be a lot more elaborate but man, cutting through acetate with an exacto knife is tricky! I need more practice.

The rest of her turned out very close to what I’d envisioned. I love … More

one in ten

Amazingly I’ve been able to squeeze in some doll making lately. I’ve got the craft room set up with the baby amusements (bouncy chair, activity mat, swing, etc) and enough projects for Oscar that we can all hang out together happily for a few moments a day. Making some new dolls has been high on my post-move list for quite a while now and after seeing Teresa‘s brilliant fruit and ice cream dolls I got all itchy and had … More

the baby’s room

Well.. it’s June! Junebaby’s month. Actually she’s due to arrive in less than a week. And while she probably won’t be sleeping in this room for months I’ve been trying to finish up the nursery before she arrives. I still have a few more projects I wanted to get to. I really want a shaker peg board and the hunt continues for the perfect mid-century rocking chair. And we definitely need a little chair-side table of some sort. I was … More
