I always run through the yarn aisle whenever I go to the craft store to see if anything inspires me to make a doll. I loved this super bulky, subtley variegated brown. Shoot! I tossed the wrapper but I think it’s Lion Brand Thick & Quick in Sequoia. I made up a doll with the Kit, Chloe and Louise pattern and gave her a serious head of hair with this yarn. It turned out really great. Phoebe has already given … More

I knit a Halloween kitty
The key to keeping up with blogging for me is to not get waylaid by bad photos. It’s raining, it’s dark, my house is a mess and there’s nowhere to take a cute photo but if I worry about that it’ll be another 3 months before I blog again. So here’s gray cloudy day kitty. Our school’s bookfair was last week and I was co-chair so I spent many hours at school. I brought Jess Hutchison’s knitted toys pattern book … More
craft room chaos

Okay, Miss Fox has an outfit I’m happy with, finally. I wanted something simple so after you’ve put the fox together you can whip out the dress super fast. I’m still fussing with the finishing. I tried to leave it frayed and unfinished but it’s bugging me. We’ll see. I’m going to take a stab at getting this pattern together this week and see if I can get it up & ready to go quickly.

baby clothes > > > doll clothes

I can’t believe this only took me an hour. I’ve had a bin of Phoebe’s old baby clothes, and some thrifted items, sitting in my craft room for um, 7? years with the intention of turning them into doll clothes for Phoebe’s dolls. fine, stay naked
After a few tries at resizing my first, very cooperative fox, this guy/girl is at least finally together. But has absolutely nothing to wear. Pants didn’t seem right, wasn’t in a cape mood, sweater dress was a flop. She’s moving to the back of the line while I can regroup. Also I was going to make this fox into my next pattern for the shop but it’s tricky! Body is pretty straightforward but that head is a beast. I … More

they’re changing! they’re changing!
The kids make fun of me over how panicked I get once Fall splendor begins. I need ALL the photo opps. I need to pull them out of school so I can walk them around town getting photos with every good tree. I’ve learned my lesson, I don’t need thousands of photos of leaves on their own, I need kids in all the shots so I’m not looking at albums of leaves when I’m in the old folks home.
