backa packa

Someone’s starting preschool very very soon. His school supply list called for one backpack with large zippered opening, no wheels. I let him pick out some fabric from his fancy fabric stash (all the great japanese prints I’ve acquired for Oscar use over the years) and this is what I came up with.

Here are some more peeks at the book sale stash I mentioned the other day. As most of you know, I am a huge sucker for vintage kids books. I pore over them at every book sale, garage sale & thrift store we go to and have a fast growing collection to show for it. one in ten

Amazingly I’ve been able to squeeze in some doll making lately. I’ve got the craft room set up with the baby amusements (bouncy chair, activity mat, swing, etc) and enough projects for Oscar that we can all hang out together happily for a few moments a day. Hand Sewing For Fun!

Maybe some of you remember me forecasting (back in March) hand sewing patterncards for Spring/Summer? We took photos, wrote out instructions, Tim laid out the patterns, we rustled up an amazing group of testers and got 99% of the way finished and then new house and baby took over.
