Here's something from that stack of stuff — a shirt from a pillowcase. The pattern I used called for elastic thru a casing at neck and cuffs but I was lazy and tried to just use elastic thread in the bobbin. After sewing a gazillion rows of it it's almost sufficiently scrunched up.

We've got a new blog header today. I mixed it up and put a little Tulip Fairy Stitchette action in there which was last seen here when Phoebe was so tiny cute. I want to hang that up again but would need a new spot or monkeygirl would for sure use it to swing out of her crib prison.
I successfully made an Easter dress for Phoebe this year! I think the key with this stuff for me is to totally not expect to finish it, not care if I do, and then it’ll happen. And I unconsciously picked a color for her dress that matched the one nice shirt I have for Oscar. Score! Aren’t they cute.
The dress is a basic pattern for a sleeveless shift dress from a japanese sewing book I have, the fabric is linen from Joanns, the circle idea is something I saw online and saved the image but not the source (I’m guessing crewcuts) and overall I think it was successful. Although maybe the fabric needed to be less stiff, more gauzy.
Dear Amy sent me this print of one of her watercolor quilts a while back to help bring a bit of Spring into my drab Chicago Winter. While it is 80 degrees today (hi crazy) and the landscape is quickly improving/blossoming it is still pretty drab outside. This print is still doing it's job and keeping me happy happy. Isn't it great! Go bug her to put them up in her shop.
Have a wonderful Spring weekend everybody. I'll pop back in with an Easter dress if I can get that dang thread. Otherwise, I'll check in Monday from my chocolate coma.
Phoebe and I spotted another bunny in action. We seem to have the knack. We spotted her trail first. Then we peeked the cutie herself doling out jelly beans.
This bunny was not as skittish and stopped for hugs and to share her candy.
So friendly in fact that she agreed to let us find her a new home. So it’s a bunny giveaway today! I’d hoped to make 5 of these for the shop by Easter but dang, it’s this weekend already. Oh well. I have one done and I thought I’d just find her a nice new home.
Leave a comment if you’d like a bunny roommate and I’ll close it up either tomorrow or the next day and let the random number generator decide her fate.

I think I like this before shot better than my staged photo. It was too sunny outside. Crazy that’s a consideration again. Go Spring!
I’ve been thinking a lot about photo shoots and locations. I’m feeling stumped. Like there are just no cool locations here in suburbia to take photos. But that can’t be true. I think I need to dig deeper. Put some dolls in the car and just be prepared to slam on the brakes if I see anything remotely interesting.
Well we’ve regrouped and we’re more super than ever! Our powers? Can keep two kids entertained through a dreary snowy weekend. Able to clean up a flooded basement in 1 hour flat. (and learning a lesson while at it, never leave a pottytraining 2yo unattended) And the most important superpower of all — figuring out how to take time off to just hang out. Not the most glamorous superpowers but we’ll take em!
