While making the series of 4 I made a back up doll, just in case anything went wrong with any of the girls. Amazingly, every Jo turned out just as I'd hoped and no one met with any spilled coffee or shipping catastrophes so we have one March girl left for sale! Below is the description from the original offering. All details apply except shipping time, this girl is ready to go!

I've been working on new art doll designs, carefully handcrafted dolls with more details and special features, that are less plaything and more cherished heirlooms. This new doll, based on one of my favorite all time literary characters, Jo March, has become one of my very favorite dolls I've ever made. I have to keep this one for myself but would love to offer a limited series of this doll design for other Little Women fans. I have all the materials to make this exact doll, same body fabric, same yarn for hair, same jumper, boots and cap. The only variations will be a different navy or grey plaid for the dress and different lace or trims on the petticoat and bloomers. I have 4 spots available and the price to reserve one is $50. After the doll is completed, please allow 3 weeks from today, Nov. 8, I will send you photos and you can pay the remainder of the price. If you're not happy with your doll I'll send back your deposit.

Doll details: 16" tall, with firmly stuffed linen body and button joints on arms and legs. Hair is left long and can be styled up and is made from a beautiful shiny russett acrylic yarn that will hold up well under light play. Jo has a fully removable outfit that includes many parts. She comes with lace lined bloomers and an undershirt, black wool boots with laces, a lace petticoat, a plaid skirt and bodice with decorative buttons and functional snaps. Her "scribbling suit" for when she is in the writing mood consists of a lined black wool jumper and cap with a cheerful read bow. Jo also comes with quilting pins that can be used as hair pins and a ribbon and instructions on how to tie her hair up.

This doll is an art doll and is not intended for heavy play and is not for children under 3. There are handsewn parts that could come unattached and become hazardous. Spot clean as needed.
