Hello Midwest friends! The rest of you I'm not talking to. I'm pouting. Stuck in polar vortex 2 lockdown over here. Another endless weekend of cancelled school days. I'm working on my project life album and my cross stitch. I rearranged my desk to fit all my journaling supplies and think I'm on to something. It's all about having every single thing at your finger tips. I was thinking about trying to make a bigger desk somehow and am on pinterest looking for good diy ideas. Tomorrow we break zero and I'm headed out to forage for supplies. Can't wait!
hello blog! sorry, had to take a break to battle the plague. all 4 langs down in one weekend, with the stomach thing. terrible, unholy awfulness. the silver lining though, feeling normal never felt so good! yesterday I was even able to finish goldie here. I ordered linen and it will not arrive so I had to go ahead and make her on this only piece I have. I wish she were more high contrast with the background but I do like how she turned out. I have two other friends to go with her and I'm going to get to those as soon as I catch up (start) my 2014 PL album.
projects! sitting up! eating food! it's a good tuesday here. hope yours is too!
We survived the polar vortex! We turned boiling water into snow, drank our weight in hot chocolate and passed another two whole days together in this house without killing each other. Now time to sit back and enjoy the decidedly above zero temps. Ah, lovely 11. Of course I'm still terrified to grocery shop or run any errands because our roads are covered in some sort of glacial compacted snow ice sheet, so I have a little time to craft. I made a dent in my ambitious goal to go back and make Project Life pages for all the kids' Christmases. So far I have 2008 & 2009 done. I'm going to finish 10-13 and then decide if I want to go back and do 03-07. I have many cute supplies. That's what keeps me going when tackling something this ambitious. If I spend all this money on cute paper and stickers then I have to actually do it, right?
Also on deck, cross stitch! I've been working on little designs but have been having trouble making leeway because I keep leaving the stitching til night. I need the full light of day to tackle these little stitches.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday break! Ours has been awesome. Every year I love post-Christmas more and more. For this mom, the morning after Christmas morning is the most magical. Everyone sleeps in, wakes up leisurely to play with toys and eat chocolate for breakfast while I sit and stare and mentally recuperate from the "magic of the season". And it lasts for days and days. Periodically I'll pick up a few things or toss some old cookies but other than that I've been contented and mostly in my pjs for a week now. Ah.
Only this morning did I stir a bit from my sloth to realize, oh! It's January today... need to start my new PL album this week! I still love my new scrapbooking habit. I've got all of 2013 journaled except for Christmas. I'm so excited to dig into all the Christmas stuff I've been ordering. I just need spine labels and title pages for these two and they're done! So satisfying.
