have a holly jolly mid-September

Whatcha been up to? I've been redoing all my Christmas albums. Because that's urgent! Not cleaning the house for book club, or picking up all the rotten tomatoes the squirrels are leaving in the yard, or buying new Fall clothes for the kids that will actually fit them or any of the other hundred things I should be doing. Instead I'm converting the old Christmas photo albums over to Project Life albums. Because I need to collect many new Christmas themed stickers and papers. It's kind of a tricky project because the photos are all already printed up and they're all 4×6. And since I didn't print them at home I can't write on them with my pens like I can my others. So it's slow going, but I have finished 2008 and 2009. Think I'll jump to 2012 now because none of those photos are printed out yet. I just picked up the Becky Higgins Christmas theme card pack this weekend. It's really cute! Think I'll dig into them for 2012.

I’ve recently started a project life album too, it’s genius! Your Christmas albums are so great. It looks like you are using other sheet protectors other than just project life, is that right? I’ve been wondering if others are compatible. I’m new to all of this. I was also wondering if you are cropping your photos and printing them with the white border yourself, or do you get photos printed like that somewhere? I know Costco prints 4×6 with borders, but I don’t think they do smaller sizes. If you are printing them yourself are you planning the pages of your book before you print? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks for sharing you projects!

    Hi Lisa,
Yes, some of the photo pocket sheets are We R Memory Keepers. The Christmas albums are tricky for me because I already had all the photos printed out and in albums. They were all printed at 4×6 with borders. I think ordered from Snapfish? For my current albums I print all my photos and I print them without borders. And I plan them out. Going back and using existing photos is way more challenging. That’s why all the different photo pocket layouts.

Archivers! Still can’t find any of the themed card packs online. Annoying. I think there was a Fall one that would be very handy right now. I’ve also been waiting for the new pocket layout with the instagram squares for AGES! We R Memory Keepers has some but I don’t like their quality as much.

Thanks so much Hilary. That makes a lot of sense to plan things out, I am using already printed photos and it is kind of a pain. Thanks again for answering all of my questions!

Are you trying to kill me?! I love the album, so much that it makes me feel like I need to run out and get the supplies to make my own RIGHT THIS MINUTE. But — that’s coupled with a very real fear that I don’t have enough photos to fill a page. I can’t even bear to look….
    Really beautifully done, though.
