I'd seen these cute bracelets on pinterest and thought I'd try to make something similar. I used some rope I had instead of leather and they turned out pretty cute. Problem is the ends, which you can't see because I got the macro lens out to take photos today. I used some clamps for the ends from the jewelry aisle at Joanns that aren't really the right size but were the closest thing I could find. They're going to fall off for sure and then unravel but maybe I'll get to wear them a few times before that happens.
.... and since I had the camera out I took a picture of this tiny sewing machine and the trolley.
That's what Phoebe said. That's how long it's been since we've been thrifting. Thrifting in the burbs sucks it but I decided today that's no excuse. I found 2 crazy cute 70s dresses for Phoebe which was a HUGE fluke. That inspired me. The first thing we found was this placemat. Not too exciting but those strawberries are super cool and made me make something.
I made Phoebe these slippers while she was at preschool today. I had the idea to make multi colored poms and needed something to pom them on and thought of slippers. I resized this pattern and made them out of some stretchy fake fur I had on hand. Pretty easy and they even fit her! Good sunny day's work.
I feel like crap today, super dizzy. Might be my old friend vertigo or maybe a sinus thing. I'm self medicating with breakfasts. Whenever I don't feel well I eat like crazy. I feel like it shores me up somehow. So today for my third breakfast I'm having a fried egg.
Tim and I have a new saying for any problem we face, put a fried egg on it. I'm not much of a foodie but have noticed that putting a fried egg on it seems to be everywhere.
Went to Girl and the Goat for dinner last week. Fried egg on top of pig face is one of their specalities. Nice photo of it here from she's cookin
this watercress with a fried egg and black sesame sauce is in the cookbook I just checked out from the library, Cooking in the Moment by Andrea Reusing.
from Gabrielle Hamilton, brown butter pasta
Blood, Bones & Butter was another book I've read recently. Again, another book where I really liked the beginning but the end, not so much. I do like reading a book about cooking though. Inspiring!
