After a recent reading of By the Shores of Silver Lake, my girls (7 and 10) want to “stitch some presents for the grandmas” for Christmas. I don’t think I’ve embroidered since I was about 12. Do you think these are do-able for young beginners? I was thinking maybe stamped cross stich would be the way to go, but I think they’d enjoy these and maybe have more instant gratification?
Also, any pointers on a good how-to book or website to get kids started? I’m in Aurora, so if you know of a kids class in the area, that would work too.

I am so going to stitch these for ornaments! This is so great! I was looking for some holiday embroidery and I forgot all about the Peppermint Fairy! Lovely! Thanks for sharing!!!!! 🙂

I should add that I was thinking specifically of the penguin and polar bear as they look simpler to my admittedly untrained eye. Your tree will look sweet with the complete set!
