book club stitchettes giveaway

Happy Monday folks. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I read two books (one technically a kids book) and started my cross stitch so I'm feeling accomplished. Although my house is a disaster. This is the key to finishing a book I realized, no cleaning.

Ok, today a giveaway. I picked up floss at the store when I was matching colors to the ones I used when stitching the Book Club Stitchettes and realized I don't really need another set of this floss so I'm giving away this dozen or so dealybobs (what are they called?) of floss and a copy of the Book Club pattern. Might make a good Summer project for someone out there? To enter just leave a comment.

Giveaway closed, sorry I let it get so big! Darci (I would love to have this hanging over my library corner in my English classroom. The set has been on my to do list.), you're the winner!

My daughter would love this! She’s learning to embroider, but I’m having trouble keeping up with her artistic demand, so I was thinking about putting together a kit of supplies for her. p.s. She’s also a huge reader, so she’d love the book club theme.

Don’t know what those are in english if not skeins, but in Norwegian they are embroidery thread “dolls” πŸ™‚
Oh, and of course, yes I want to be in the draw!

That’s wonderful! I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
What are the books that you read? I need something new to get into. I just finished The Color Purple. (I’m also always on the lookout for new and exciting kids books).

    thanks for sharing.

I have just graduated from library school and i spent my last semester looking at your bookclub stichettes and matching them up with my friends to make as graduation presents! I have a bit of time now while looking for a job so I would love to finally get to make them!

  35. Cindy G. says:

I just had my “book room” painted, and I am in the process of sorting and organizing my books and decorating the room. A little bit of book-related hand embroidery would be just the thing! Plus, it would help me to practice my stitches πŸ˜‰

Wow! As a recently unemployed librarian, I’d love to do a little handwork this summer with the Book Club pattern to make some wall decorations for my son’s room. Fingers crossed…

  39. greetingarts says:

Would love to stitch up these cuties, and since my crafting budget is now a big fat 0$, winning will be the only way I can manage it! Thanks for the chance….. Oh, and the delay bobs are just called skeins. :0)

I have been dying to do these cuties! They represent my childhood (and adult life) exactly. They are close to my heart! Love them and love your book too! I’ve made Evelyn, the Sleepover Pals, Little Miss Storybook, and Tag A Long so far. My daughter loves them! Thanks for the inspiration!

Oh, oh, pick me! I bought the first one, but I haven’t gotten around to getting the other two yet. I plan to make them into a wall quilt to hang in my “library”. How exciting!

  44. Courtney K says:

Oh please pick me! I’m the ultimate bookworm and trying to relearn how to do embroidery. My grandma taught me as a little girl, doing it now makes me feel so much closer to her. Your designs are so delightful! Thank you!

  45. Charlene Gilmore says:

I’m a major bookworm and love the Book Club Stitchettes. I will probably eventually buy the patterns if I don’t win (but winning would be excellent!):)

  46. Emmmylizzzy says:

How fun! I would love to know what children’s books you are reading and/or good recommendations. Children’s lit has always been my favorite and I’m always looking for new selections. I’m currently on the 2nd book of the Mysterious Benedict Society and have been loving them!

  47. Lissa says:

Oh I love the book club patterns. I’m seriously considering doing them on my extended families’ stockings (we have none) for Christmas since we’re all readers! Hoping hoping hoping!

  48. Lea says:

Based on my knitting background, I think they are called skeins. (But don’t ask me what the correct way is to pronounce that..:-)
Thanks for the chance to win.

  49. shelley says:

I would love to make one of your patterns. I have always admired them….AND I am a school librarian, so it’s perfect!!!!

  50. Beverly says:

Very cute! Remind me of my Lucy & Henry, reading together on the couch. Thanks for the opportunity!

  51. Heidi says:

I have been admiring these designs and would love to stitch them up–perhaps for my librarian sister or for me! (P.S. I think they are called “skeins” of embroidery floss, just like yarn, but I could be wrong.)

  52. Erin in PA says:

They are adorable! And as someone looking for a project to do that is not a full quilt that needs quilted (not fun when it’s 97 degrees and humid!) – this could be the ticket! Thanks for the opportunity!

  53. Becky says:

Oh, how lovely…we have a little bookworm here who could use a cozy reading quilt, and I certainly could use the embroidery practice!

  54. MzTallulah says:

I’d love to win, and turn the squares into a quilt just like you’re doing πŸ™‚

  55. Tina @ Squirrel Acorns says:

Are they called skeins? Absolutely love your book club stitchettes. And I’m very intrigued by all the Japanese crafting books you have behind the embroidery hoop in that last picture. I have always wanted to buy some Japanese crafting books but I find myself a bit scared of them! Even though everyone always says that the pictures are so good that you don’t need any words.

  56. Debbie C. says:

I’d love to win this giveaway … it would give me something new to try over the summer! Thanks for the generous giveaway!
