I’m going to start with the giveaway

Bugs coming soon… Actually we’re off to the library to get another bug book but I thought I’d get this up first. I am hoping to do some giveaways this Summer of old projects, craft supplies, just lots of miscellaneous stuff. I need to clear some space, mentally more than physically, so I can make some new things. I do not feel compelled to make new little pillows when I haven’t even sewn up the last little pillows.

These guys I made years ago, years and years ago, when I first started blogging. They’re scanned illustrations from a cute childrens book I thrifted printed out on iron-on transfer paper. Then I log cabin quilted them up into these little 8″ square pillows. They’d be so cute in a nursery, or on a doll’s bed. They’d make a cute new baby gift? Know any new babies? All they need is to be stuffed and sewn shut. Leave a comment if you’re interested and I’ll do a drawing later today or tomorrow.

And here’s a list of what’s coming (this is to keep me on task)… pics of bugs, pics of my new project (jen, I’m gearing up!), list of books I’ve read this summer, all the new wee wonderfuls toys for sale and a pom pom necklace.

Those are darling! What a great idea. I should try and dig around in my craft room for some iron on transfer paper…I know I must have it in there somewhere…

What a lovely idea. I know a little boy and girl going on their first airplane trip – this might be a nice thing to have on the redeye!

Love those! I wish I knew how to do that copy-print-transfer business since I have a really old nursery rhymes book that I would like to use in this way (or something similar). Not to mention the illustrations in Lois Lenski’s The big book of Mr. Small .

They are such perfect little pillows. I’d love to stuff them up and find a place for them.
I am also in clean out mode over here.

So sweet! What a great idea for transferring cute pics too. There are so many wonderful illustrations in my kids’ books that I have wanted to tear out and use as art!

So sweet. . . new niece or nephew coming to the family in September. . . stitching the big sister one of your elves to put on a holiday pillow to decorate her room. . . gotta do something with my fingers while I watch the kids at the beach:)

I love the illustrations but the sweet vintage side fabric is what really makes them. You have such a great eye for it! Thanks for offering them up

These are adorable! My daughter likes to “cuvah up beebies” and uncover and cover and uncover and cover…these poor babies are never able to drift off to sleep.

They’d also be the great start of a cute child’s quilt — just the motivation someone (me) might need to get a project going.

  17. Susie says:

Man, they are cute. I do need a new baby gift in about 4 weeks time. How could I have left it so late? Its not like I didn’t know how long I had! These would be perfect

  18. Katherine says:

Oh man I hope it is not too late for the giveaway. Those are adorable. I’d love to be able to make them for either my 4 year old or my about to be any day now baby. I’m in the middle of making my daughter a quilt of the book readers stitchettes. Thanks so much for all of your wonderful designs.
