I really enjoyed this new book about Vera Neumann by Susan Seid, Vera: The Art and Life of an Icon. I love her idea of making art affordable and accessible. Her business is fascinating to me, probably because that is exactly what I cannot do with my own design business – think big! I loved learning about her and her husband's start in the business and their crazy awesome Breuer designed home and all her artist friends and her extensive travel. Those glamorous mid-century artists. They seemed to know each other, didn't they. Not a bad circle to be traveling in.

Lots and lots of pretty pictures, easy read, very interesting life… two thumbs up! Love having lots of Vera on glossy pages instead of just the stained cast offs I can find at the thrift store. If you need a January book treat to keep you inspired through the long Winter, check it out!

I didn’t know this artist, how interesting.
This is what I love about reading blogs, getting in touch with new ideas and informations, widening my knowledge and opening my mind.
    Thanks a lot.

I just found this book on sale at Anthropologie and I am so glad I bought it! I also loved reading about Vera, seeing her Marcel Breuer house, and viewing all of her prints. She designed more than a print a day! This book was one of the most inspiring I have read in some time!
