Mr & Mrs Claus ornaments

I ran out of yarn to finish knitting these as teachers gifts as I’d planned but I didn’t want to waste time running to the yarn store as today was make some headway on teachers gifts day so I had to come up with a plan B.

I made little Mr & Mrs Claus here by shrinking down the Mr & Mrs Gnome pattern. I printed the PDF six pages on one page and it came out to be a good ornament size, 5″ tall. I cut out all the pieces and then glued them down, overlapping pieces as in the pattern, onto a piece of black felt. I tucked the rickrack loop in between the hat and backing and then glued a pom at the top. I used black E beads for the eyes. To make them glittery I painted parts – the hair, the beard, the belt buckle, the heart – with glitter glue. They turned out so cute I think! Now I want to make lots of my patterns over in teeny tiny ornament size.

Do you use wool felt or do you get the craft felt from somewhere like Michaels? Could you share where you buy your felt? Thanks for your help!

  22. Totally flipping cute.
I was actually thinking about doing something similar, but putting it on a t-shirt. Love those gnomes.

  23. I use wool felt bc I have it on hand (although the black is craft felt) but it would work great in craft felt too. I buy wool felt at joanns if they have it or here online

  26. You know Hilary, I actually like these better as ornaments than dolls. What a great idea!

  27. Sorry, the Esater bunny you did that’s a combo of the elf and something else. I love that you’re doing more beautiful designs, I’m just scared to do the combining like you do and did on Clara.

  28. you don’t need to buy 2 patterns to make the easter bunny. and it’s not two patterns combined. It’s the elsa elf pattern and the ears and dress are made to fit that pattern and are in the freebies section.

  29. Ok, I’ve got it now, thank you so much!

  30. These are sooo cute!! I had to have a go myself over christmas (www.sewgorgeous.blogspot.com) and I loved how they turned out! Please keep the inspiration flowing!!
