early start

I should just save this for next week’s kid sewing challenge but I want to stay motivated to get through my huge stack of sewing projects so here’s this top today. Thanks Karen for the Liberty print! When are you going to London again?

Pattern is from here and it was tricky! This was definitely a labor of love. Here’s the criss cross back.

Liberty cotton lawn and knit jersey for the sashing (that’s what you’d call that, right?). I love how it turned out but it was exhausting.

  4. I love this top. It looks great on and it seems Ms. Phoebe likes it too. I see your little one likes leggings too.

  5. So sweet.
Was it hard to do the jersey with the liberty? I am intrigued, and a little scared to do that myself.

  6. Quite lovely–I want one for me please.

  7. Soooo cute. I’d totally wear that.

  8. Very cute. Perfect school outfit.

  9. It was well worth the effort, it’s turned out lovely!

  10. The outfit looks very good.

  11. Just love Phoebe’s new top… you do good work. A true labor of love.

  12. Your outfit is too cute! I have a suggestion for you. I am a grandmother of two girls. Love, love, love sewing for them. I want something cute, but not time consuming. I am recommending a pattern for you. It is called “The Georgia Dress’ by Zozobugbaby. It is easy..actually no pattern pieces just measurements and rotary cutter. And, what makes it great is the skirt is a big twirl and they love the twirl. Good luck

  13. this was a gift from a friend. true up has a great bit on finding liberty

  14. yeah it was hard. the cotton lawn is so lightweight and the jersey was real slippery. I had to take many breaks while sewing it so I didn’t lose patience and muck it up.

  15. i love it, and kinda want one for me too! 🙂
