vintage childrens books

I'm embarrassed to admit this.. I haven't been to one garage sale yet this season. I have excuses — rain, soccer, etc — but really I've just be so disappointed in garage sales out here that I barely have the energy to try. Luckily my sister is still on the chase and she'll pick up the things for me that seem "hillary" to her. Thanks KT!

I love these two!Reminds me of my two (on a good day).

  1. I love old children’s book, I have a small collection in Spanish, but barely a couple in English. Those illustrations are adorable.

  2. What a great sister! 🙂 Those are great finds.

  3. Oh my! Big brother George looks totally like the little brother A who lives at our house.

  4. I’m with you. I love a good garage sale but… 7:30 swim team and waking up to 30 degree temperatures makes my mood sour. I see these types of things, mostly online and I think of you and I don’t even know you. If I run across something in July, I’m sending it to you . You are inspiring!

  5. I’ve had a bad season garage sale-ing this year, too. I just haven’t seen much that makes me happy that I got up early on a Saturday! Maybe a little time off will refresh the mojo.

  6. funny, cause i haven’t made it to one yard sale yet myself! i need to get out there! i have a collection of old Little Golden Books from when i was a child. my mom saved them for me, and i am so glad she did. every once in a while, i get them out and look at the artwork. it is so much prettier than the modern books. well, that’s just my opinion!

  7. Great book finds! Our local library is having their annual book sale and I picked up a few old Richard Scarry Busytown books. I’m waiting for the bag sale on Thursday — all you can stuff in a bag for $2. I saw some great book finds on Sat there, but I already had 14 books in tow. 🙂
