I loved teaching art to kids! Have you ever seen my Flickr set of a kids’ art exhibit I visited a few years ago in Japan? I think you’d love it. (When I went to snag the link, I realized I have a lot of photos from it that I never uploaded. Thanks for the nudge! I’ll have to put that on the list.)

I work for the children’s museum and visit schools all over DuPage Co. The Wheaton schools have THE BEST art of any other district I’ve seen, and in all of their schools, too. Don’t know if all the schools share a few art teachers? I just love going there each year to see what gems are lining the hallways.

My pre-k class has several art shows during the year. We have them just as the parents are picking up their children at the end of the day. We back their work with a colorful sheet of construction paper then laminate them ( makes the colors so vibrant). I take the CD player out in the hall playing “mood music”. Each child takes their parent to their piece and tells about the inspiration, medium and technique…they are 4 and can tell these things about their artwork. I love children’s art and I also like that they can talk about it!
