carmel corn to be

I bought all the supplies. I cleaned off the counter. Now to find the energy to make it. It sounds amazing. Today I’m wishing I had one of those twitchy bewitched noses to help me get things done.

I didn’t even have to click over to Orangette to know exactly what recipe you were talking about. I’ve been obsessing over it as well- it just sounds soooo good.

Now I am wishing I had a bag of Garrett’s caramel popcorn!(and only a bag from the store at State and Jackson will do! Their’s is the BEST!!!) I really think they do something different, because the homemade stuff just doesn’t turn out as buttery!

I just made this last night, and it is crazy, crazy, crazy good.
Make sure, though, that you have your popcorn all popped, and all the unpopped kernels taken out, before you start. I made the mistake of popping the corn whilst starting the caramel — and the first batch of popcorn burned. So I popped a second bag, but had to rush the final mixing steps, and totally forgot about all the unpopped kernels. There are a LOT of unpopped kernels in microwave popcorn. Took me half an hour to pick them out of the very warm caramel. (Then again, I did get to lick my fingers a lot.)

That caramel corn looks dangerously good. The problem is I would eat ALL of it! Once I start on something like that I can’t stop. Are you making this as gifts or just a fun family activity? If you are making it as a gift, I will happily supply you with my address. 😉
