  1. Yes, there were four–Becky, Sarah, Katie and Carrie. For some reason I remembered them being The Gingham Gals but I don’t think that’s quite right. I had the set that had all four of them.
The set I’m searching for with little luck featured five little babies–one Hispanic, one Asian, one African American, and I think the last two were blond. I believe it’s called Happiness is Babyland and very rarely seems to show up on Ebay, and I miss out on it every time.

  2. Oh how gorgeous! I am in love! Thanks for sharing these 🙂 K

  3. Oh, that looks wildly familiar. I think I had those!

  4. Hey…I remember that…I had the Sarah one…actually, still have, as I boxed up and kept all my paper dolls. Wow, haven’t thought about that in years!

  5. I had that top one! How fun.

  6. Wow, those are really adorable!

  7. I had The Ginghams. I am pretty sure they were all color coded, yellow, pink, green and blue…but I can’t recall which color was with which girl. I totally loved mine to pieces.

  8. Yes! I had a set of four – Becky, Sarah, Katie and Carrie – and they each had their own colour coded set of clothes – I just loved their hairstyles – particularly the one with all the curlies. I was reading the Anne of Green Gables and Little House books at the same time as playing with these dollies and they were just the perfect addition. There’s some nice info on them here : http://www.dollkind.com/the-ginghams-paper-dolls.shtml

  9. Oh, me too, me too! I loved my Ginghams, too! The little box sets were colored in the yummy red, yellow, blue and green. And I loved the backgrounds… the warm kitchen and cozy 3-D Stove! I am so jealous. I wonder if I can convince my hubby that our 18 month daughter needs the complete sets. Thanks for bringing me back to my childhood!

  10. I still have my Ginghams from long ago — they had multiple sets, from prairie-style to Victorian and other period outfits. If I remember correctly, there was a grandmother as well, at least with one of the sets; she had braids wrapped around the crown of her head and shawls. Lots of shawls.

  11. *heart* memories!!!

  12. OMG we had a whole suitcase of these paperdolls when we were little! (They were really cheap from the drugstore…) I loved how the little boxes could be turned into playsets. We’d stand the bottom box up on end inside the lid and then prop the little cardboard scene inside. We still have a handful of the sets stashed away somewhere. You’re making me want to go dig them out now!

  13. i love the ginghams….i still have mine and i have the book ice cream parade!

  14. I also have the Ice Cream Parade book, and definitely have Katie, and don’t remember if I had more.

  15. I know this! I had a Gingham Girls coloring book, which I remember coloring in while sitting in the back of the station wagon (and I’m still alive) while driving on our vacation trip to Florida. And getting carsick. Didn’t each girl have her own color of gingham she always wore? There was a coloring picture of one of the girls with a toothache and she had a scarf wrapped around her chin to the top of her head. Darn, I loved those!

  16. LOVED Ginghams!!!! So happy that you have found some. I will keep my eyes open for some (possibly in my aunt’s attic???)

  17. I think I may have had those, as well. Some of those dresses look so familiar. I loved my paper dolls! I used to make my own by cutting the models from the Sears catalog.

  18. I have all four of them as well, and I still love them. I used my hard earned babysitting money for them. My daughter oohs and aahs over them each time I pull them out but I haven’t passed them on to her yet. They are in near perfect condition and I hope to keep them that way.

  19. Just found your blog and had to comment. Those were my absolute most favorite paper doll. I have a box full of them! It is so nice to see someone else display them! Oh, and I love your blog and have just bookmarked it so I can come back!

  20. i had so many of the gingham girls sets. loved the little boxes and how happy they all looked stacked one on top of the other. i still have most of the dolls and clothes tucked away into envelopes with my ten year old hand writing on them. i wonder where they are…must remember to keep an eye out for them as i purge this tiny casa of mine. thank you for the memories!
