somebody's gearing up to turn 2 around here

I'm hoping to get Phoebe's baby clothes quilt finished up by then. The most painful part, the cutting, is over and now it's just matching up and sewing a gazillion little squares together.

**update** Okay, thanks everyone! The RNG has done it's job. Although it must have been tired today b/c it kept giving me the same numbers. I've responded in comments to the winners, that sends you guys an email right? Not sure how the new comments work yet. I'll dig around for batch #2 later this week.

As I mentioned yesterday I'm trying to tidy up around here and was hoping maybe there were some boys or girls out there who'd want to give these toys a new home.

Here's the first batch of misfit or just badly neglected toys that are looking for a home. Leave a comment saying which you'd like to adopt and at noon I'll shut it down and randomly generate numbers until everyone is matched up. Two things... US only please and also I'll need a $5 chip in for the mailing, cool?

ok.. we have a nekkid Chloe with straight hair. I'll kick in the KCL pattern so you can sew her up a little something to make her decent.

next, a very bright big footed bunny who needs a face. also needs snaps on her jumper which was made from a vintage baby outfit.

Olive #1: a bowless Olive. A little dusty but otherwise looks pretty good. And looking at her here, I think maybe her arms are the wrong size.

Christmasbot. He's splitting some seams and needs his buttons tightened.

Tatiana. Her old face was driving me nutty so I put some button eyes and a new little mouth on her. Cute but you can still sort of see the ghost of the old face. If this doesn't bug you she's very cute, even has handknit matching cardigan and kerchief.

Olive #2: An Olive with bangs. I think some seams and not so hot and I meant to put buttons down her front. And maybe she doesn't match, I'm thinking that's why she ended up in the pile.

Olive #3: A faceless Olive with curls. Needs her butt sewn up and a face and a bow.

monday morning

Is my site still here? Typepad admin says I have 0 posts. They're kooky like that. Speaking of kooky, I have those new talk-to-each-other comments now. Just in case you're feeling chatty.

So I wish I had a cute remodeled kitchen then I could show you my big accomplishment for this morning, clean countertops! Really that is actually blog-worthy news around here. It's awesome. I think so much better when all the dishes are in the dishwasher.

Another pleasantly tidy scene here at casa lang is the bed of myrtle and sweet woodruff that's come up all bright and cheery. I love it so much. Effortless gardening. The only bummer is it putters out where we did the new landscaping and was buried with new dirt and mulch. It just isn't creeping back in fast enough for me. I tried to transplant some today but I feel like I was just killing plants and making a mess.

My next project for today -- after a string of errands with a couple of crankpots -- is to try to make some space in my craft room. I'm hoping to find new homes for a few old and unfinished dolls that are just piling up around here. Anyone in the mood for a misfit toy?

Phoebe's boots are seeing lots of action today. April showers and then some. We're going out to visit the new blooms on her pear tree between deluges.

Would someone like to come over and do this to my ribbon? Isn't that so great! I'd love to stay in and work on it but we have another warm day and more spring flower action to document.

I am very nearly on the brink of being at a take a breath point, I think (I hope!) so things should get a little less finger drumming in this space soon.

the competition is tough

It's a beautiful warm sunny day and we're holding tryouts for this year's maypole dance.

I think this looks like a good bunch. They've got nice chemistry.

no new easter dress for this one

I couldn't get dress sewing motivated since whenever she has a chance she strips out of her girl clothes and beelines for O's closet. Think she'll be the only girl in a star wars shirt at the egg hunt?
