cleaning up and clearing out – first batch

**update** Okay, thanks everyone! The RNG has done it's job. Although it must have been tired today b/c it kept giving me the same numbers. I've responded in comments to the winners, that sends you guys an email right? Not sure how the new comments work yet. I'll dig around for batch #2 later this week.

As I mentioned yesterday I'm trying to tidy up around here and was hoping maybe there were some boys or girls out there who'd want to give these toys a new home.

Here's the first batch of misfit or just badly neglected toys that are looking for a home. Leave a comment saying which you'd like to adopt and at noon I'll shut it down and randomly generate numbers until everyone is matched up. Two things… US only please and also I'll need a $5 chip in for the mailing, cool?

ok.. we have a nekkid Chloe with straight hair. I'll kick in the KCL pattern so you can sew her up a little something to make her decent.

next, a very bright big footed bunny who needs a face. also needs snaps on her jumper which was made from a vintage baby outfit.

Olive #1: a bowless Olive. A little dusty but otherwise looks pretty good. And looking at her here, I think maybe her arms are the wrong size.

Christmasbot. He's splitting some seams and needs his buttons tightened.

Tatiana. Her old face was driving me nutty so I put some button eyes and a new little mouth on her. Cute but you can still sort of see the ghost of the old face. If this doesn't bug you she's very cute, even has handknit matching cardigan and kerchief.

Olive #2: An Olive with bangs. I think some seams and not so hot and I meant to put buttons down her front. And maybe she doesn't match, I'm thinking that's why she ended up in the pile.

Olive #3: A faceless Olive with curls. Needs her butt sewn up and a face and a bow.

Hi! I would be very interested in Olive #1. She”s adorable and makes me think of my niece, with her blue eyes and wispy red bangs!! 😉

  2. Dara says:

I’d take Chloe and you don’t even need to throw in the patterns cause I have them already….but am in canada… would be willing to pay $10.00 for the shipping.

  3. Marybeth says:

Well, I scrolled through and my daughter just kept squealing! The best responses though were Chloe (so cute!), Tatiana (also precious!), and Olive #1 who looks like she needs a hug.
I think she likes their faces most, especially those smiles!

  4. Kara says:

Oooh, buttonless Olive #2 or naked Chloe please! It’s so fun to see “works in progess” or “works that didn’t work out” – it’s a great insight into your creative process and makes me feel better about my craft pile!

  5. water works says:

I love them all, but the green 70’s retro bunny is so kicking, I can’t stand it. And I could never make it. Chloe is also awesome, don’t get me wrong. Thanks for the giveaway chance. Here’s hoping it me…or really my daughter, but really me. Right?

  6. Amanda says:

I would be honored to welcome any of these sweeties into my home…If pressed to choose I would say Tatiana or an Olive of your choosing!

Chole or bunny is my choice – promise to finish them in a special way for a dear friend that would cherish them.

  9. Annie says:

how cool! (and me not entering is only cause i’m not in the US 😉 )
I did also want to send you this link (in case you haven’t seen it)… I’m sure if you have any other misfits or what have you – they would be appreciated here:

  10. Rose says:

Okay these are all so darn cute. I cannot believe that these are your rejects…they are awesome!
My first choice would be Chloe (for my daughter). I feel an incredible urge to make some clothes for that naked doll! I love the bunny too! So hard to choose!

  11. helen says:

they are wonderful! my daugther loves tatiana b/c she has dark hair like hers and Chloe b/c she needs clothes… hehe

  12. says:

I would LOVE the beautiful Chloe doll! I got your pattern awhile back and have had some trouble with the hair so I would love to see how the expert does it! = ) My girls would adore this doll, and once I see how you do it, I could finally use my pattern to make them a second one.

  13. Melissa says:

oh please for your second round open it up to canada, you can name your shipping cost, your christmas bot really needs to come to my house

  14. Skye Van Dyken says:

The Chloe doll would be so much fun to make up little outfits and my girls would absolutely love her and squeeze her… hopefully not too tight! 😉

  15. Shannon says:

Nekkid Chloe! So sweet, just needs a quick outfit. My daughter is turning two tomorrow (sniff, sniff) and she would just adore that “baby”.

  16. Cheryl says:

Ohhhh, I love them all. But Olive #1 reminds me of my baby daughter. Of course, she’d be happy w/ any of them though!

  17. Mama Urchin says:

These are the best looking misfits I’ve seen. We’d love to give a home to any of them, particularly the dolls or the bunny. You might consider sending some to Eren as she is collecting dolls to take to Nicaragua this summer.

  18. marymary says:

I thought you said “misfit!” These are adorable. I would be thrilled with any of these: nekkid Chloe, bright big footed bunny, Christmasbot, Tatiana, or Olive #2.

  19. Mary says:

    Oh how wonderful!!
I’d love to have the little naked Chloe. I am just itchn’ to make her some clothes and give her to my wee daughter.
My second and 3rd choices would be Tatiana and Olive#1.
But I’d be more than grateful and happy to give a home to any of them. 😀

  20. Lori says:

I LOVE Tatiana. She’s so beautiful, and gypsy-ish. My little eccentric four year old would love her, I have no doubt, though all your dolls are just beautiful. I also want to thank you for inspiring me to start my own crafting blog! Thanks!

  21. Hayley says:

OMG. Hillary, these are your misfits?! Your dinner leftovers look like something out of donna hay, don’t they?… Argh! The cuteness! Tatiana is gorgeous, ghost-face & all, but really, any one of them would find a happy home here!

  22. Karen says:

I love them all, every last one! I guess I’ll vote for Olive #2, if I must, but count me among the any’s!

  23. Angela S says:

By the way, thanks for putting “We’re a couple of misfits” from the Rudolph Christmas special, in my head. 😉

  24. Johanna says:

I love that Chloe–she looks so much like my daughter, Winnie. I’m planning on giving Winnie a Chloe doll for Christmas. A Chloe already made would be fantastic because I always plan to give more handmade gifts than I’m able to make.

  25. Rachel says:

Hi. I’d love to adopt any of them. Tatiana is my favorite. And you don’t have to bother with mail, just send with Tim to work and I’ll send him home with $5. Thanks for the opportunity to own some of your beautiful hand work.

  26. kate says:

These are wonderful! (misfits and all). I have to admit, though, Tatiana seems to have stolen my heart.

  27. Mandy says:

Ghost eyes or no, Tatiana needs to come live in my home…I can just tell! What a lovely and generous offer!!! I’ll be crossing my fingers that I get lucky today!!!

  28. Emily says:

Oooh, the naked Chloe, please! My two year old has been begging me to make her one (instead of just our baby friends), but I haven’t had the time, especially now with a 2-week-old.

  29. Jamie Chatterton says:

I think my son would like the Christmasbot or perhaps even the bunny. Thank you, they are all so adorable!

  30. kelly says:

I am probably too late, but I would love to adopt naked Chloe for my little girl (due in July) so that we can make clothes for her together.

  31. Maribeth says:

Olive #1, but if your putting names in multiple pots, I’d be happy to try my luck at providing a home to any of the Olives or the bunny! I’m honored to help with your Spring cleaning!

  32. Nancy says:

naked chloe is my first choice.
and i promise to make her a cute summer outfit.
i think ms. s would love to give her a hug and kiss!

  33. Hayden says:

Tatiana and Chloe are my *favourites*, but any of the dolls, or the big-footed bunny would make my day (yeah, I just listed everything but the robot…). :)

  34. Katie says:

I would love to welcome Chloe, Olive #1 or #2, Tatiana or Christmasbot into our home. They are all so wonderful. If I could sew faces adequately they would all be welcome here, but I can’t so I would be a bad adoptive mom to take the faceless lovelies in. I love your work, thanks for such a generous giveaway!!

  35. Bunny says:

Ooh, count me in! I know a very special little girl who would love Chloe, Tatiana, or Olive #3.
I have the patterns for Chloe and the Make-A-Longs but it would be cool to win a ready-made doll for her! Haha.
    Best wishes!

  36. Sarah H. says:

I really like them all, if you have any homeless toys at the end of polling. My first choice is Chloe and second choice is Tatiana.
Great toys, even in their unfinished states! Thanks, Hillary.
    I live in Nashville, TN.

  37. Cheryl says:

I love nekkid Chloe, It would be so much fun to make her a few things to wear. I am sure the other dolls at my house would enjoy having her join the family. She is my favorite, but anyone would be welcomed.

  38. Hammy says:

Oh that bunny is so cute! I’m sure it would find comfy home next to all the other bunnies crowding around the shelves at my house!

  39. Marcy says:

My daughter would love the big-footed bunny, nekkid Chloe, or Olive #2. What a fun idea for a giveaway! It’s also nice to know that every crafter has some misfits stashed somewhere.

  40. Christine says:

It is so hard to pick just one! I love the big footed bunny. I would love to give her a face and have her for my baby that is on the way. I’m glad I am leaving this comment in time. It pays to check out my favorite blogs while I am at work.

  41. Annemarie Pearson says:

I’d love the Tatiana or the straight-haired Chloe! Any of these adorable wee things would be most welcome, though!

  42. Beth G. says:

I would take Olive number 1. How would it be to have that problem…too many cute toys in the house?! You are too generous. These are homemade! I love your stuff and can’t wait for your book!!

  43. Julie Liv. says:

Hmmm, they are all great!! The handknits make Tatiana my #1, but the blonde Chloe pulls a bit at my heartstrings too! Followed by the green bunny and olives too. Robot is last, only because it is still snowing here and I want spring, not Christmas!!! But still a cutie.

  44. Holly says:

We would love to adopt Chloe or Tatiana, and we promise to take good care of her and love her as our very own. :-) I already have the KCL patterns, so no need for that.

  45. Jenny says:

Count me in, please! They’re all lovely – but I’m a knitter and Tatiana and her handknit sweater and kerchief are speaking to me. Also, my daughter would adore her. She hasn’t had a new doll in ages because I keep telling her she has too many. Oh well, what’s one more? :)

  46. ivory says:

We would love to adopt Tatiana or nekkid Chloe. I have the KCL pattern, and have made dolls for friends daughters, but my poor kids have not received one yet (and a painters house is never painted, right?)

  47. allie says:

i’ve got two looney girls who’d love to give any one of these adorable creations a home! you’re so talented!

  48. Amy says:

Oh how sweet! I am thinking that little nekkid Chloe is such a sweety. And Tatiana would find a perfect little home in my daughters arms, for they look so much alike! Thank you, and how thoughtful!

  49. Molly says:

I’d love any of those girls. I think I’d turn naked Chloe into the princess from the princess in the pea story. So, she’d be getting a bed with 12 mattresses….

  50. kelli says:

Olive # 1 Of course, said my son “because she looks like you!” I love them all though!!! You are so generous :)

  51. kate says:

ooh i would love any of them for sure although i think i would love chloe or tatiana the best! i would certainly give one a loving home!

  52. elisabeth says:

How generous of you! I LOVE the naked Chloe doll. She reminds me of my daughter- blond and dark eyed (you can click on my blog link to see a picture). It would be fun to sew some little dresses for her!
If I don’t win, I’ll have to make one myself anyway.
I made one of the Olive dolls a couple of years ago, and a big footed bunny and I love them too!

  53. Stephanie says:

Wow. Looks like I don’t stand a chance, but still, I HAVE to try! Tatiana or Chloe, please! Thanks so much for so generously offering these beautiful creatures to your readers.

  54. Hillary Lang says:

Hi Bunny, how about Olive #3? She’s our last one and I’ve been jumping around random numbers to find her a home and landed on you! Please send me your address, thanks!
