kicking leaves

Here I go with the weather again, but honestly it’s unbelievable. Warm when it should be cold, sunny when it should be dreary, beautiful colored leaves glittering everywhere when they should be about all blown away. Chicago has seemed a pretty magical place these last few days, as if Mother Nature knew there’d be history made here last night in Grant Park.

so I’m off for just a bit more elated leaf kicking and then I’ll be back to business.

xo, from the land of Lincoln & Obama!

Are you sure you’re not English? An obsession with the weather is a very English trait, LOL!
I wish it were so warm here, we’ve been ‘treated’ to day-long drizzle and grey skies, although they’re now lit up with a myriad of fire-works (with the accompanying bangs). My cats are huddled away in terror, but the dog’s snoring :)
For a change I’m pleased with the recent elections, the rest of the world does have a somewhat vested interest in what America does and Obama appears to be the best choice as far as I can see.
Enjoy the sunshine in Chicago – a rare treasure at this time of the year (and the best from scrunching through those leaves :D)

I went to grad school in the Midwest and live in Texas now and I miss the fall colors. Sigh.
And, whoo!!!! Barack Obama is the president elect! My husband and I drank way too much champagne and then went to an old bottle of wine; my daughter tippled on sparkling cider. We danced, we hugged, we sobbed, we danced and we drank some more.
I went out on our balcony and screamed, “AWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Obama! Obama!”
My daughter went out on our balcony and screamed, “AWHOOOOOOOOOOOO! I’m cold!”
Our living room looks like a wrecking scene, but Lamour is taking off today and I’ll let him handle that problem. As for me, at the dawn of a new day, a new era, and a new hope; I’m still sobbing because of pride and elation of being black, an African American woman, and with more pride for our country pulling together for unity’s sake.
For some more celebration, check out my post on the world’s reaction to Obama’s election… 😀

    They’re so big! Especially her!
And America grew a little bit more yesterday! Congrats!
Here on the other side of the ocean, we are all celebrating too, and raising high our glass of champagne.

We did some leaf kicking during the day, and some champagne drinking (sans kiddo) in the evening. What a great, great day for America and the world.

So agree with you on the weather. And though not a religous person, myself, I did have to wonder if someone up above planned that gorgeous night for our new, gorgeous first family! What a night, what a president-to-be, what a country-to-be!!!
