well isn’t that comcastic

Electricity and internet this morning! woohoo! One thing we’ve learned about our new house is that everytime the severe thunderstorm warning goes off the electricity goes off with it in our part of town. Also learned that man, I am hooked on the electricity. That was a miserable sticky looong 24 hours. Now I’m going to go toast my kids a waffle, turn on my coffee maker, bask in the a/c and then I’ll be back to pick a winner (with the random number generator) and post something or other. And read all those comments! You guys are crazy, thanks!

I have had a day without electricity and learned I don’t have much patience without electricity. I have had a day without internet and that felt like I had lost a lung. I can’t imagine losing BOTH electricity and internet at once….sedate me! Have a great day!

I think the worst thing about losing power is losing A/C (or heat in winter). It’s too hot in our summers to lose the A/C. Glad everything is working for you again. :)

When we first moved into our little house, we noticed that the power would blink in big storms, but rarely be off for more than 20-30 minutes. We thought we had strong wires, or something technical like that. Then one of our neighbors let us in on the secret: because of our location, the power grid that serves our little neighborhood also hosts the traffic cameras and emergency signage on the highways–which in Atlanta means A LOT. And thus, we are rarely without power. I can only imagine your intense discomfort while enduring the ick of summer without power–I say hang out RIGHT NEXT to the A/C, like in Desperately Seeking Susan when Madonna gets all up in that hand dryer in the bus station bathroom.

    i know how you feel
we lost it for 2 1/2 days
if it happens again i’m going to get one of those flashlight things to wear around my head so i can knit in the dark because it was hard by candlelight.
    yeah, i’m a little crazy

Being without electricity is AWFUL! The last time ours went out- I lasted about 2 hours before packing up the boyfriend & dogs and heading out to a hotel! :)

I laughed out loud at your post title and got excited to know that you must live close by (I’m in Peoria, so 2 hours away I guess). Perhaps we both loathe Comcast? I know I certainly can’t stand them!
