And it's been fun to sort of reminisce over the past 4 years. What I was realizing is I don't post inspiration and process as much as I used to. It's so much harder with two kids now to find the quiet moments to muse away on the blog. I'm going to try though. It'll probably be short and scattered but I like having this blog as a record of my inspirations that I can look back through when I'm stuck.

So on the topic of inspiration...Tim and I were super bummed to miss out this year on one of our favorite annual events, the Oak Park Library book sale. My kind sister was able to go and did her best to grab a few "Hillary books" for me. She did a good job. I'm especially loving everything about this - the colors, the quilts, the teapots, the tiny beds, the hedgies. Cute!

Electricity and internet this morning! woohoo! One thing we've learned about our new house is that everytime the severe thunderstorm warning goes off the electricity goes off with it in our part of town. Also learned that man, I am hooked on the electricity. That was a miserable sticky looong 24 hours. Now I'm going to go toast my kids a waffle, turn on my coffee maker, bask in the a/c and then I'll be back to pick a winner (with the random number generator) and post something or other. And read all those comments! You guys are crazy, thanks!

it's been how many years?!

So okay yesterday as I was laying down for a (my teething baby kept me up all night) afternoon nap I was gazing at this quilt on the bed, the blog birthday quilt, and realizing hey, it's that time of the year again. Blog birthday time. 4 years! What's that in blogger years? This is my 951st post. Good grief that's a lot of crafty chatter!

Today I've been mulling over a way to celebrate the b.b. and I may be crazy from lack of sleep but this is sounding like a really fun idea. A giveaway, but this time the winner gets to choose the prize, any w.w. toy or doll you want. Just leave a comment, wishing me a happy blogiversary of course ;) and choosing a favorite toy or doll. Or request something new! Always love an excuse to come up with something new.

for Phoebe

Well I haven't got anywhere on quilt designs for the gift quilts I need to make but I did plan three different quilts I want to make for Phoebe. Here's one in progress. Paper pieced hexagons from Tanya Whelan Ava Rose Dots

I also have knitting plans for Phoebe. I think I'll try this. Just can't decide on a color.

If you're thinking "what about the boy, that poor neglected boy", well unless I can sew or knit something from the new Clone Wars toy aisle at Target he won't be too interested. The boys around here have Star Wars fever.
