it’s been how many years?!

So okay yesterday as I was laying down for a (my teething baby kept me up all night) afternoon nap I was gazing at this quilt on the bed, the blog birthday quilt, and realizing hey, it’s that time of the year again. Blog birthday time. 4 years! What’s that in blogger years? This is my 951st post. Good grief that’s a lot of crafty chatter!

Today I’ve been mulling over a way to celebrate the b.b. and I may be crazy from lack of sleep but this is sounding like a really fun idea. A giveaway, but this time the winner gets to choose the prize, any w.w. toy or doll you want. Just leave a comment, wishing me a happy blogiversary of course πŸ˜‰ and choosing a favorite toy or doll. Or request something new! Always love an excuse to come up with something new.

Anyway a big thanks to everyone who checks in on me from time to time. I love this blog thing and you guys give me an excuse to keep at it. THANKS! xo

Oh, a VERY happy Blogiversary to you! A giveaway? Really? I have to say, I love EVERYTHING you make…but I’m IN LOVE with your little sugarplum fairies! If there was a sugarplum fairy…maybe with Kit’s hairstyle (the side buns)…to give my little baby sweet dreams? (My husband is ASian, making my daughter “Eurasian”, and it’s TERRIBLY difficult to find dolls that look like her!)
Perhaps I should try my hand at doll-making. πŸ˜‰ When without, make it yourself, right?

  2. Nikki says:

Congratulations on four years! Think your blog was one of the first I read and have been hooked ever since!

  3. Beth H says:

I’d have to say after scanning your flickr set, I just fell in love with Lewis the sock monkey. I don’t remember seeing that the first time!

Happy BB-Day! ( I just realized that I missed my own by about a month!)
And should I be the lucky recipient of a Wee Wonderfuls toy, I would have a hard time choosing… so much wonderful! But I do think that Oscar and Phoebe each deserve a doll in their likeness… something new for you to work on!

Your blog has been one of those “drop-whatever-it-was-you-were-looking-up-when-the-RSS-lights-up-another-post” blogs! The soft lighting on everything, the beautiful colors you choose… It is the best kind of addiction. One of my favorite posts was Oscar’s room, actually. I’m in love with that green!
Best to you, and thank you for sharing your life and creativity with all of us!
(Could one really possibly win a Chloe?? Such things are too much to hope for!)

  13. Biscuitbear says:

  42. Ana Lilia says:

happy four years! i’ve been a fan for almost that long. i can’t remember exactly when i started reading craft blogs, but yours was one of the firsts and has been one of my favorites since then. all of your creations are wonderful! but if i were to win the drawing, i would like either miss bear or kit.

  43. Elizabeth says:

  46. nicole says:

Congratulations on your blogiversary! I’ve only been reading your blog since half a year or so but it’s one of my favourites! My choice would be Louise or Chloe doll, oh or a miss bunny would be wonderful as well…not for my daughters just for ME!

  47. Jordan says:

I remember going to a birthday part once as a kid, and instead of receiving presents that birthday girl gave a present to each guest. I got a barbie camera – best party EVER!!! But your creations are way cooler than barbie cameras. Happy blog-irthday!! I’ve been following your blog off and on (or more like when I was in possession of a computer) for about 3 years. Pictures of your dolls and babies always bring a smile to my face, so thank you for doing what you do, and please keep it up for many more years.

  48. sharon says:

are blog years like dog years? anywho happy anniversary … I love all of your toys and dolls … only the joy of winning could cancel the the “pain” of chosing.

  52. RDMama says:

A Very Happy Blogiversary! Reading always gets me inspired. I just finished a Space girl for another little birthday celebration this afternoon. I would have such a hard time choosing but would probably go with a doll or sugarplum fairy!

  53. annie says:

happy blog birthday! i love everything you make :)
i wish i had advice for teething, but my daughter is teething, also, and my brain is too fuzzy to think.

  54. Violet says:

Happy Blogiversary!! I love your sense of colors and design. I am going to try to make an Olive myself and hope to make her just half as beautiful as you do.
My choice would be a Chinese version (like my daughter) of Chloe; slightly golden skin, black hair in a bob (maybe with a hairband), black almond eyes.
Hope you continue to create beautiful things for many years to come!

  55. Alexa says:

Happy Blogiversary!! Imogene and Ivy are so sweet it would be hard to pick a favorite. Come to think of it, any of them would be welcome in my home!
Keep up the cute work. I love the crafty chat!

  56. hazeljoy says:

you sound like you’re regretting this already hilary. just think, you’re going to have to top it when you hit blog post 1000! ha ha
i’d chose a hazel doll – ginger, chin length hair, a few freckles, wearing glasses, dressed in green & stunningly beautiful (of course)
    happy blog birthday xx

  57. Michelle says:

Hillary, I’ve already won one of your giveaways in the past, and if I won this one, too I’d probably start a blog riot and have to go into hiding. But I just wanted to say Happy Blogiversary, and to thank you for being the first craft blog many of us ever came across. You opened up new worlds for me, and my life is so much better for it.
Daisy has always been my favorite doll you’ve ever made, and that’s saying a *lot*. You’re the best.

  58. mj says:

I love the set-ups of Kit Chloe and Louise quilting, so any one of those would be so cool! And thanks for keeping at this so long :).

  59. ktbb says:

    Happy Blog-iversary!

And so does your Picnic Fairy Stitchette — my favourite!

Happy Blogiversary! I love your blog and your creations – you are such an inspiration! If I have to choose a favorite, I guess it would be Chloe. But really, all of your creations are wonderful.

  61. Mia says:

Wow, Happy Blog birthday! Your blog is one of the first that I read regularly, spurring the addiction :)
If I’m luck enough to get chosen, I’d love Chloe, especially her dress! The only thing is that my little girl is tan with brown hair so that would be my special request.
Keep up the excellent crafting, you’re always such an inspiration!

  62. Christina R says:

I just started making dolls and every time I see one of your creations I feel a bit inadequate… but also so inspired to keep trying, and try harder.
I would looove the sugar plum fairy doll. Not for one of my three girls, but for ME. Just like her name, she’s delicious!!

  63. raquel says:

    Feliz cumpleanos!
    Maligayang bati!
    Bon Anniversaire!
Were I to be the winner of such a priceless prize I would desire a most awesome hobbibot. (please!)

  64. Anna says:

Congrats! 4 years is impressive. As for choosing that might be impossible. Although I can narrow it down to a doll for my daughter as she keeps stealing my son’s. I think it’s time for one of her own. How about Louise or the rag hair doll or maybe Kit… oh, that’s tough.

  65. Kate says:

wow! congratulations and Thank you! I’ve found your blog so inspirational since I found it, and it’s been a great source of crafting tips (both from yourself and the comments from other readers) – I’ve really learned a lot (though I have to insist that you start finishing your seams Hillary!) My most recent favorites have been the sugarplum fairies!! My daughter (just 2) has somehow, without any encouragement from me at all, discovered fairies – and is of course obsessed. It’s about to go fairy crazy around here.

  66. Carol says:

Happy Happy Bloggaversary! You’ve made us smile with all your lovely Wee Wonderful-ness. May you continue to have more creative juices flowing out of ya! p/s i love all your girl-dolls – the details on their dresses, shoes, faces *sweet*

  68. KK says:

Happy, Happy Blog Birthday!!! Wishing you many more craftastic posts to come. I’ve got a little boy who’d love a Spaceboy! My personal faves have always been Olive & Archie along with the 1st set of postcards that unfortunately I was not able to buy since I found you well after they’d sold out.

  69. I Wonder Woman says:

Wow, four years? In a way I’m lucky I only got hooked into the blogosphere last October. It’s like finding a FANTASTIC novel series, when there are already 4 or 5 books written! I love all your dolls, and your embroidery has inspired to try and embroider Christmas gifts for all the ladies in our family. Happy Blogaversary!

  70. Selina says:

Well, the happiest of happy days to you and your Blog. Where would we be without them, I wonder?
I took a gander at your Flickr pics, but wonder…have you done dolls from the old stories, like Little Red Riding Hood or Goldilocks?

  72. karen says:

Happy blogiversary! Is there cake involved? You have a delightful blog and I do love all your dolls. But, being mom to two boys, the robots are my faves.

  73. kirsten says:

  74. susaninfrance says:

oh happy happy birthday! I’ve been reading your blog since the fall of 05, so I guess I missed the first year. BUT I’ve got two WW Original Dolls!! So I guess I’m already lucky! If I had to choose, I’d give you a pic of one of my children to do a doll after. My grandmother was making a doll that looked like me when she got sick and I never got it and the unfinished doll was lost, so it is something I’ve always thought about doing. Happy 4!!

  75. Linda says:

Hip hip hoorah for your bloggerversary! It’s always such a delight to check bloglines and see that there’s a Wee Wonderful update!
If by chance I was lucky enough to win the giveaway I’d love anything that you make, but I do think your birdies and little chloe are especially cute.
Best wishes for many many more years of blogging!

  76. teresa says:

Wow – 4 years a long time. I love your designs and I’m sad a bit when I check and don’t have a new post to soak up your crafty goodness. The robot is the first softie I attempted for my daughter who wanted a pink robot 4th birthday party. It turned out great and I loved the pattern book. You rock!

  79. Dawn says:

Happy Blog B-Day!! Four years of inspiring adorable “love” is a wonderful way of using the years. Thank you!

  80. Jen says:

Happy, happy Blog Birthday! Yours was one of the first blogs I read. You give me so much inspiration. Thank you so much and here’s to 4 more blog-a-riffic years.

  81. Stefanie says:

    Congrats on the 4 years!
Ever since stumbling across your blog 2 or so years ago I have been in awe ever since, you are such a great inspiration.
As for a gift, I would love a girl doll with a slight Asian flair for my daughter. She is half Taiwanese half German but her looks come more from her Asian background. I have had a hard time finding a doll that she can connect with as she gets older, you know a doll that looks like her. I would love to see what you could do your dolls are just so cute!

  82. Angela says:

Happy blog birthday! Hope you’ve made a cake to enjoy. Your embroidery has really inspired me – as well as your dolls. I would love to have a sugarplum fairy for myself after spending all the time on robots and spaceboys for my boys!

  83. The Mommy says:

Many blessings on your Blogiversary! I’ve enjoyed reading your blog so much. I added you to my FeedDemon and I read every post you put up now, and try to comment on as many as I can. I’ve really enjoyed your posts and your dolls, all the new projects you have going. Thank you!

  85. suzanne says:

Hellooo…happy 4 years! I can’t believe time can fly so fast.
Here’s to many more creative, inspiring, fun, and happy years.

  86. Stacey says:

Happy blogiversary! Another great milestone. All of your creations are cute, the craft ones and your kids. Since I’m pretty sure you won’t part with Phoebe, I’d request a cute doll wearing overalls. And of course she’d have red in her outfit, too.

  87. sarah says:

Wow! Four years! Thanks for entertaining me all that time. I love your doll Ivy, but if I won and you really wanted to try something new, a fox would make my heart sing!

If I was to win – I would love to have a Professor Paws, of Olive and Archie fame – He looks just like our cat Ollie!

Happy, Happy!! Like many others here, your blog was my “first” — and still my favorite. You’ve inspired me to learn to sew — I’ve made 2 Peanuts, and an Archie & Olive for my kiddos, and I’m dying to make Louise! Until those patterns come out (soon please!), I’m working on my first stitchette.

  102. Amber says:

Wow! Four years! I was excited about reaching seven months . . .
I love your site–your creativity is inspiring! Thank you for sharing . . .
I would love your Inez doll–but with blue eyes. My two-year-old, Pickle, has short red hair (because it won’t grow!) and blue eyes. I would love for her to have a baby to love on that looks just like her!

Happy Blogiversary!!! 4 years, that’s quite an achievement! I always save your posts for last if I see them appear on my bloglines list. πŸ˜€
That must be the best idea ever for a give away! What would I choose though??? i love all your creations, but perhaps a Sugarplum Fairy – they are adorable. Or, I would love you to design a ballerina stitchette pattern – that would be brilliant.
I predict you will get 2000 comments on this post. πŸ˜‰

  110. Cindy says:

Happy Blogiversary! If I were to win choosing would be really hard as there is nothing that you ahve created I wouldn’t like to have. Could I have it all????

My daughter and I love all your toys, but my book loving daughter would love for you to do a mouse with large LARGE ears just like the character Despereaux in Kate Dicamillo’s book, The Tale of Despereaux. Looking forward to many more years of your inspiring blog!

  113. Sarah says:

You have inspired me to try to replicate your creations for my three year old daughter. I hope you will be blogging for many years to come.

  124. erin says:

  129. Abbey says:

Happy 4th Blog Birthday! You can’t imagine how much your little blog has inspired me, both as a crafter and a mother. I look forward to all the great crafts in the years to come!

  134. Jennifer says:

Oh, Hilary, you were my first-ever craft blog. I will read you as long as you post (isn’t that kinda romantic? Or creepy? I can’t tell…). If somehow I won, I would love to have a Topsy Turvy girl, I think. It just bends my brain to look at your photostream…so much goodness!
Thank you so much for blogging, Hilary.

  137. Viv says:

Happy blog birthday. I’ve only been reading here for two weeks, and love it.
As for the giveaway, I like a boyish toy for my little one, lewis the sock monkey, pointy kitty or Miss winifred Fox.
You have inspired me to at least try and make the wee boy a handmade soft toy for his birthday in a few weeks, to go with his new quilt.

  138. Lindsay says:

Happy BB! I love your blog and your toys/dolls, so thank you for the opportunity. I love miss bear. I mean L.O.V.E. her!

  139. Jacqui says:

Congratulations! I love your creations and patterns! Your Olive and Archie dolls got So. Many. compliments when I made them for a few kids last Christmas I really began to wish I could take credit for the design :) I got the kudos for making them though, so thank you for enhancing my crafty reputation! Wee Bunny went down a treat too. I’ve absolutely fallen in love with your sugarplum fairies though, there’s something about stripy socks that means all is right with the world. And that hair! Definitely wonderful.

  140. kristen says:

  142. Nicole says:

Happy Blogiversary! Anything you make would be a fabulous prize but if you’re looking for something new… my little girl just lost her first baby tooth and is looking for a tooth fairy pocket for her bed. As you’re making it you could make two – one for your baby who is just growing those baby teeth! (btw it goes so fast!)

  143. Mean Mommy says:

Happy happy blogiversary! I’m always excited to see Wee Wonderfuls updated in my feed reader. Honestly, the adorableness on this blog is one of the reasons I started sewing, and sewing has made me a much happier, more creative person, so thank you!
I’d have to think long and hard about what I’d pick if I win…that’s a hard one!

  144. kate says:

    Wow, great work Hillary.
I’ve been following along for longer than I remember. I adore this blog and your adorable creations.
You have an incredible number of fans, but if by some fluke I win, I would love a Chloe of my very own.
    You rock!!

  145. Zoe says:

Happy Happy Blogiversary! I absolutely love your creations!
They are beautiful and yet long to be snuggled all at the same time. I think if I had to pick a favorite it would be the Topsy Turvy doll, so adorable and clever too! Cheers and many happy returns!

  146. Tiffanie says:

Happy Blogiversary!!! I Really love reading about your creativity. I have looked at all of your great ideas and they inspire as well as awe. I have made your bunny and am going to try the pointy kitty pattern. Just wondering since you have a boy if you had ever thought of making a lizard or dinosaur. Would really like to find a pattern for one for my two boys. Thanks for all of the inspiration.

  147. Abbey H says:

Four years! Happy anniversary! That’s so generous of you to offer one of your beautiful toys. I’d love for my little boy to have one of your dolls, but think that I’d give it instead to a little person we know who has much less. I look forward to many more years of reading! :)

  148. Andrea says:

Happy Blog b-day! I can’t even imagine getting to choose whatever I wanted. I think I’d have to sit down w/my daughter and let her pick!

  151. Jess says:

    Happy Blog Birthday!!!
I always find inspiration here, and my daughter and I love the Make-Along Story.
If I could choose one of your magnificent creations, I would say a Kit or Chloe, as they are my new favorites.
Even a pattern for one of them would make my year!
Thanks for all of the inspiration!

  152. SheltonDHW says:

    Happy Blogiversary!
My son loves when I go to your blog. He points to the circle picture of Archie on the right and goes nuts!

  153. amy says:

happy blogiversary! your blog is the first blog i ever visited (over three years ago). you have continually inspired me. i am a big fan of the sugarplum fairies and chloe. but they are all so wonderful!

  154. tara says:

Happy Blog-iversary!! I have enjoyed your inspiration for at least 3 of your 4 years — thank you!!
Choosing a favorite softie is tough… I have a girl and a boy and I’m sure they would want to make it their own. So, it would have to be either an adorable fairy or a rockin’ robot! (Or maybe a bunny….) So hard to choose. How about you choose for us if we win?!

  155. tulip says:

Aw! Congratulations!! I’ve been reading for quite a while and I’m so glad you are still here. :)
I’d love to have a great doll patterned on my daughter! Or frankly any doll that you make!

  156. Shannon says:

Oh, congratulations on your blog birthday! And may there be many more to come!
The little doll in the middle of the knitting picture with the two buns on the side of her head. She’s my favorite. Maybe just because she looks like me a tiny, tiny bit.

  157. Jennifer says:

Happy Blogiversary! I love checking into your site to see all the sweet new things you make.
I love pretty everything, but I’m smitten with Chloe and Archie.

  158. jill says:

Love your blog. Thanks for continuing to post such lovely things. I’ve made your handsewn felt creatures (well the bird — mine’s named Doris — and the snail — that’s Fred). I love all of your dolls yet I havent made one. I also bought your space boy and robot patterns. I really should get off the computer and start making something…

  159. suzie says:

Thanks so much for putting so many lovely things out there for us to swoon over. :) I adore your dollies, but would love to give my baby-to-be a little stuffed animal as his first lovey. Maybe a plump elephant or the turtle king or queen?

  167. ToddleBits says:

Wow, four years! That’s gotta be like 40 regular years? Anyway, happy bloggiversary! I’ve had a major crush on you since I found you a few months ago. Love everything you do- all of it! But, my favorite doll is the Little Miss Raggedy Ann doll from a few weeks ago. Hope I win!

  168. lily boot says:

Dear Hillary, Happy Blogbirthday! You are one of the inspirations for both my and my little girl’s blogs and our efforts to sew and create each day. If we are the truly lucky winners of your blog birthday giveaway, we would love one of the original cloth dollies who inspired your paper doll series – any one of them would be beautiful and I know my little girl would be beside herself with excitement – it would certainly outshine the coveted Julie from American Girl! I look forward to many more of your crafty words! With warm regards, lily

  169. Sarah Pringle says:

Happy Happy … Blogiversary (such a crazy word!)

  174. Heather says:

Happy Happy anniversary! I love your blog ideas and patterns. I have no idea what I would like if selected. Actually a doll for my daughter or son would be grand.

  175. Shauna says:

Happy blog anniversary! I am a quiet follower of your blogs and am very happy that you are willing to share your talents with all of us. My favorite idea that you have shared are your one year quilts for Oscar and Phoebe. I have a little Phoebe of my own along with a few of her sisters and brother and hope to make a one year quilt with their first year clothes. Thank you for the idea :o)

  183. Jessie B. says:

Congratulations! It would be nearly impossible to choose from your toys, but I think I’d like a dark-haired Chloe, or maybe a sugarplum fairy, or maybe a Miss Brown Fox. But if I was lucky enough to win, I’d be more than happy to brainstorm a new toy idea, if that would be more fun for you! A fairy fox, maybe?

Congratulations on 4 years! Wee Wonderfuls was the second blog I ever read and it has been a regular part of my day ever since (Allsorts is the first, and was led to WW from there.) I really enjoy your photos, crafts, family shots and your shop. I hope to be able to start sewing again by the end of this year – you are an INSPIRATION. Kit would be my choice if I won your give a way, and I would name her Phoebe because I see a likeness there. Blessings on the Lang clan.

  191. EmmyLizzy says:

951 posts!!! You’ll be at 1,000 in no time!! While I’m in love with all of your patterns, I would love to see something new. Some sort of animal; like a squirrel, or a fox, or an owl or something woodsy. It would also be neat if it had some sort of human aspect, such as wearing a coat, or maybe reading a book? I’ve definitely never had a problem with specifics!

  192. amy h says:

    Wow — four years! Congratulations!
Ooh, I wouldn’t be able to decide between a sugarplum fairy and a robot. I really like some of the felt robots you did. (different from the pattern ones, which I have and plan on making!) We like robots in our house. So I guess I’d have to say robot. :)

  193. anie says:

    To 951 more!

  196. Peanut says:

    Happy Blog Birthday :)
I love coming here to see what you’re up to – you give me so many ideas. I’m currently collecting everything I need to make Olive and Archie (skin toned flannelette is being difficult).
After much debate I decide that my favourite is the Topsy Turvy doll. She’s so cute with her everyday and party looks. A summer/winter girl would be another good pair.

  197. Heidi says:

I think you should give away anything you want to give away, but preferably more than one thing so we will have a better chance of winning.

  214. Kirstin says:

Yay!! Congratulations! We would freak out to have a topsy turvy doll at our house. That would be the best thing ever. Thanks so much for your inspiring work, and for sharing it with all of us!

  246. kelli says:

Happy Blog Birthday! I love to read of your adventures — I’m so inspired by your craftiness. So’s my mom — she made each of my boys “road” quilts for their beds. They love to drive on the quilts.

Happy Birthday! Your blog was one of the very first I followed over three years ago. And now, I’ve finally got the guts up to create my own craft blog! You are a constant source of crafty inspiration.
I have long crushed on your pig on wheels.

  248. Lorien says:

I’ve loved your crafty style ever since I found your blog last year (I was looking for non-cheesy paper dolls for my little girls and yours fit the bill!). I’ve been stalking the site ever since (but in a good way) and am waiting ever-so-patiently for the release of the Chloe pattern. So, if I had to choose a prize, I’d choose her.
Thanks for being such a source of inspiration for all of us and congratulations!

  249. Valerie says:

  254. Anna says:

Congratulations. My favorite toy that you’ve designed is the freebie pointy kitty. I have one all cut out and waiting to be sewn up. I love looking at the Flickr group of all the cats. In fact if I were the chosen one, I’d love a pointy kitty from you.

  255. WATER WORKS says:

Happy Blog Birthday. I keep thinking I need to get me a blog, but really, I have nothing as crafty and fun-filled as your creations! I guess I could just keep linking over to your blog and post “inspiration and love”!? A giveaway is always fun…and those latest sugerplum fairies – Gum Drop and Lolli-Pop – are too cute, adorable and fabulous!

  256. Liz Cadorette says:

Oh, Hillary, happiest of happy blogiversaries! Thank you so much for providing so much marvelous crafty inspiration and joy. :)
I adore the wee sheep on wheels you made way back when…but really I would most love to give my almost-five-year-old a doll with curly blonde hair just like hers. :) So if I won the crafty blog lottery that is this blogiversary giveaway of yours, I’d request a new doll with curly blonde hair and brown eyes. :)

Your patterns have all been hits in this house–I can’t wait to make my own little Chloe for my new little one Eliza. She’s only a week old and will have an extensive doll/softie collection if I keep it up. I would love any type of animal in a dress. I’m not a cat person, but yours are too cute!! Thanks so much!!!!

  315. Gail says:

Wow! Happy Blogiversary! I completely feel your teething, no sleep, pain. I love your giveaway too. I would like to request (if I were to win) a Chloe doll, with red hair. My little Gina would adore it! With an almost 8 month old brother she is not getting enough mommy and me time lately.

  325. Kristie says:

Okay, deciding which weewonderfuls treasure I would want is way too difficult. Let’s just see if I could possibly even win and then I’ll torture myself trying to pick. I love your blog…

  326. Lasso the Moon says:

    Happy fourth birthday, Wee Wonderfuls!
(Louise looks just like my little Emma!) You are an inspiration. My blog wants to be just like yours when it grows up.

  327. Beth says:

Wow, what a generous gift! I was thinking over all of the many things you made and had such trouble choosing one. I just love those patch work girls with the postcard pictures you took. I love detail. If I was ever chosen, I would pick an Olive doll for me. I have made dolls for my children, along with an Olive and Archie doll, and they are well loved. When my three year old isn’t watching, I love to put her up on the shelf for display. She doesn’ last up there for long though. I would enjoy having one to sit on my shelf smiling at me while I sew.
Thanks for all you do. It would be fun if you ever wanted to make another Make-a-long story. We sure enjoyed watching the pages come together on the first one. :0)

  328. Jessica says:

happy blogiversary! thank you for all the beautiful inspiration over the years =). i’d have to say … something teal, tiny flowers, and pin tucks.

  329. Felicia says:

4 years is a long time and a lot of writing. I check your blog daily and absolutely love it! I would love to see you make an okapi. It’s my son’s favorite animal and very hard to find toys of it. But if I am going to pick from your fabulous animals and dolls you have already made I really love Professor Paws. He makes me laugh. It reminds me of a cat we had when I was a teenager that my dad actually called Professor Boots. No kidding!

  330. Emma says:

Love the blog! Happy 4th! Hard to pic just one so here’s two:
I love the Pesky Gnomes and Olive and Archie…they all are so very charming!

  331. Amy W. says:

Happy blogiversary! And what a generous giveaway with which to celebrate it. I would love to have a Chloe if I am chosen.

  332. Eleanore says:

    Hi Hillary,
Your blog makes me so happy! I would love a Kit doll with brown hair. Heck, I would love any of your dolls from the Quilting Bee or Knitting Club.
Cheers to you and thank you for always being so kind and helpful (like when I ask you a question about fabric via email)!

  333. Fittsy says:

Hooray for 4 years! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us. It really is beautifully inspiring.
Wishing big here: I want a blond Olive and blond Archie, but if I only get to choose one thing, I’ll have a peanut.
Thanks for letting us celebrate with you.

  334. Pamela says:

Happy Blogiversary! Your site is truly wonderful and I love everything you make. If I had to choose, I’d snatch a robot or gnome right out of your hands (and then stand back and watch as my nephew snatched it right out of mine).

  335. Astoria says:

    Happy bloggy birthday!!!!!
My two boys have starwars fever too. Have you seen the r2d2 knit hat pattern? Its a good one, quick and easy for fall! Just striped and then a little duplicate stitch for the details.
I’m welcoming my own little Phoebe, our first girl, into the world tomorrow! We’ve wanted a Phoebe for a long time and I remember following your pregnancy and being thrilled when she was named. :)
And if you happen to pick me, our first baby girl after 2 boys could definitely use a doll! Especially a dark haired doll like we expect her to be (though you never know do you, our second boy shocked us with the copper hair!)

  336. Kendra says:

    happy happy happy blogiversary!!!!

You inspire me and are always a bright spot in my day! If I could pick one thing for you to make, it would be a small quilt with a bird applique or bird theme for my daughter’s room. She’ll be one year old on September 26th.

  339. Megan says:

You’ve been so inspirational to me–with your babies, decorating, home buying, general crafty yumminess. Soon it’ll be my turn and I can put all these patterns & stitchettes to use :) Maybe a red-haired Dr Lori in a graduation cap & gown propped up near my computer would get me there sooner?!! LOL

  353. Beth says:

Wow, congrats on your blogiversary! I love checking out your blog for a daily dose of cheery craftiness. I can’t help but laugh to see Dagmar’s face. She looks like she’s about to tell a good joke. It’s probably a duck joke. Those are the best…”duck walks into a pharmacy and picks up a tube of chap stick. The clerk says, ‘will that be cash or charge?’ the duck says, “just put it on my bill!”

  354. elaine says:

Happy 4 years of blogging! I always enjoy seeing all your creations but ‘Folky’ with her red plaits, flowery dress and stripey legs just did it for me! I swear that’s my wardrobe she’s wearing and she is, well, me! But she’s got a major cute factor x100 !!!!!

Wishing you a very Happy Blogiversary! (Spell check doesn’t like that word…he he) Anywho, I absolutely love reading your blog and I must say you have inspired me to get back into my crafty side that I sort of neglected after HS. I love everything you make, everything is so adorable. I love vintage, old-timey things and the things you make remind me of a warm and cozy time before huge corporate toy companies (and…shudder…plastic everything).
Okay so what I really love from your Flickr are those cute kittens Buttercup and Sunshine.

  453. patricia says:

Happy Blogiversary! Wow – 4 years!
Your blog is one of the very first blogs that I started to read religiously. Everything you do is so creative and adorable. If I had my pick I’d have to go with a doll. The only thing is that we’d probably fight over it with my daughter! :)

  454. therese says:

  455. laurie of liquid paper says:
