here's our advent calendar.. wait for it.. drum roll please..
ta da! yep, it's just paper, an old school paper one with glitter. this is what we had when we were kids. no prizes, no chocolate, no playmobil trees. I've kicked around more elaborate advent ideas and would maybe like to do one of those activities a day calendars some day when the kids are bigger or I was thinking for next year of doing one of those ornament ones where you hang a new ornament on the tree each day (but then you'd have to have the tree up dec 1). but I gotta admit, I like the simplicity of this one. no frills. we were really into it when we were kids. so excited to get to open the little windows. maybe that was just the excitement of getting a turn. but even though phoebe's not yet participating oscar seems into it. seems the countdown should be exciting enough. so, good. done then. and we'll put an orange in his stocking and a block of wood under the tree and call it a day. hardly ;)
