replenished

ahhh.. that’s better. My wool felt stash has been restored thanks to this order from A Child’s Dream Come True that came this weekend.

new supplies are a good distraction from sitting around waiting for my niece to make her grand entrance into this world. those aren’t my impatient fingers you hear drumming on the desk. nope.

  1. There’s little I love more than a selection of colours. When I was growing up, my grandmother was my biggest art enabler. She would give me huge sets of markers or paints or pencils or pastels or papers or…..you get the picture.
The best, most unexpected gift was from my Mom. I was 11ish and into embroidery. I wasn’t doing it correctly: more like sewing pictures with coloured sewing threads. Anyway, one day I came home to find a shopping bag on my bed, full of embroidery thread, needles, a needle-threader, pretty scissors. That has always stood out in my mind as the best gift I ever received. There’s just something about having a full array of colours.
Enjoy your felts and hope your neice makes an appearance soon 🙂

  2. Those colours look great! I hope she comes soon {or when she is ready}, healthy and happy to be in this world with the people who love her. Keep us posted.

  3. What timing! I just finished embroidering my pointy kitty last night, and was wondering where to get good felt. I was looking after my niece last night, who was enthralled watching the needlework.
She named the kitty Polka Dot. I left Polka Dot for her to keep, so no picture of it to post.

  4. I’m waiting for my new girl-cousin to be born, too. I’m making her the bunny from your book, so hopefully I can get it done in time!

  5. Oh, I almost fainted when I saw all those colors of felt! Thank you so much for the link. I was having the hardest time finding the right green for my put-together kitty’s eyes.

  6. Beautiful colors! So happy – we love A Child’s Dream Come True around our house. Hope your niece arrives shortly!

  7. thank you so much for the link! I’ve been looking for a good source of felt, until now no luck!

  8. THANK YOU for the shopping tip! My eBay wool felt supplier disappeared!! Thank you! Thank you!!! *Bowing down*

  9. oooo! dreamy good stuff. need to build up my paypal account-pronto!

  10. Thank you so much for sharing your supplier link with us! It’s so hard to find wool felt; now I’ll always be prepared (and most likely out of money, lol!)

  11. Hmm, no niece, but I am waiting for my puppy to be born. Mama’s in labor, so any time now! I hope both your niece and the puppy are delivered safely and in a timely fashion. In that order. 🙂

  12. Wow, great felt resource. I have to say, I’ve never actually used wool felt before *blushing*, but I hear that when I do, I’ll never go back! 🙂

  13. Thanks for the reminder about this site for ordering wool. Some of my childrens first toys came from this website. I wish it was easier to find wool felt at local stores. We have a nice supply of a tie-dye felt at our local fabric store which is nice but I think the normal colored felt is not wool. I used the tie-dye felt for my kitty that I finally finished. I think it worked pretty well. I can’t seem to upload the photo into the flicker group away from home but will try when we get back.

  14. Oh dear. You don’t know the trouble that you just caused me. I’m going to be driving through Sandpoint today on my way to Seattle. It’s the perfect 3.5 hour break point in the trip and A Child’s Dream Come True now has a retail location there. The temptation is great. This could be very dangerous!
…and I was hoping to save my spending money for the Japanese book store in Seattle…
“I WILL BE STRONG. I WILL BE STRONG. I WILL BE STRONG.”
I could always stop on the way back if I still have some cash in my pocket, right? Although, THAT’S unlikely!

  15. Oh, thanks for the link. I was wondering where I could get decent felt. Now that my crafting tastes are becoming more refined, the cheap Michael’s craft felt doesn’t cut it. =) Thanks again!

  16. Thanks for the link! That looks beautiful, all in array.

  17. Oooooh. That looks like fantastic felted wool. I’m going to have to check out their site.

  18. My niece just made her appearance Tuesday night – so I know how you feel. Fingers drumming, pins & needles. She’s perfect, btw, my niece!! Proud auntie, I am. I look forward to your sister’s update. Can’t wait to start my bear/bunny…maybe this weekend.
