Here's my line up of new bunnies waiting for tails, faces and dresses. I'm really excited about this batch! I have so many great fabrics picked out for their outfits. It's good to have a fun activity lined up for the long nights in store for us this weekend, listening to things explode.

I wrote this funny little post last night about Oscar's quirky behaviors. He does all these things that are just not typical 2 1/2 year old stuff. Not like, he's already learned new math kind of stuff but more like wacky old man stuff. The one that cracks me up the most is he sets up his cars or trains in a scene or crash and then asks me "does this look cute?!". God it's funny. Obviously the word cute is tossed around here quite a bit. And man I wish I had a sound byte to put up here. When he asks a question he gets louder and louder and his inflection higher and higher so he's kinda squeak/yelling "does this look cute?!"
anyway.
I chickened out putting up the post because I dreamt up this whole scenario.. flash to 2016 and the general practice of the school bully is to search netarchive for kids who were blogged and then use the details to torment & torture them. "Hey Boxcar, how about this? Does this look cute? Huh, does it." Bam Smack Pow! you get the idea.
So here's his tough angry face to deter any future attacks.

Glad to hear the pattern booklets are landing safely and I can't wait to see your creations. More booklets have been reordered...and more thank you cards and more mailers. whew! The business of business, there's a lot of it huh. Tim is very excited that people actually like these things and is eager to get going on the next set of patterns. I'm working on it dear. I've successfully recreated the butterfly and now the turtle.
The the biggest challenge for me in all of this is trying to balance going back and making patterns and tutorials of previous work with the desire to keep moving forward. I'm itching to get started on some new projects and designs. I have a set of twins to make stuffed animals for and I have been trying to come up with something new for them. And for the embroidery I have big plans, overambitious maybe a kid's book type of plans. At the very least I hope to get a few embroideries together for a little set of notecards soon. Then there were those fabric designs and oh yeah, poor neglected thriftcraft. And bunnies! I'm working on a big batch of big footed bunnies to add to the store. And again there with the overambitious. Are there enough hours in the day to learn how to smock?
On the other side of the to-do coin are the patternbooks. I'm hoping to get two more sets done by Fall. The hand sewing set with turtle, snail and butterfly (and maybe a new design) and the robots and space toys which will be a much bigger book than no. 1 with more patterns and variations. And then, phew, that's it. That's as far into the future I can think!

All the booklets are safely in the hands of the reliable postal service and I'm back to my usual late night antics. Staying up way past bedtime working on embroideries and such.
** to answer some questions I've been getting, I do separate the floss in half and the stitch I'm using is called a split stitch. **

Again, holy crap! Thanks so much to everyone who bought (or wanted to buy) a patternbook. And thanks so much for all the well wishes! So many super nice comments on the last post. You guys are the best! I've been working on packing up orders and I should have them all out tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I was going to write little notes on all the thank you cards but then I got super paranoid that the ink would smudge all over the booklet so I'm leaving them blank. And this way they can be reused if you like. I can't wait til these all land in their new homes. I'm so excited to see the bunny/kitty/bears y'all come up with!
So about a reprint. Tim set up a new separate mailing list. I'm hoping from the number of sign ups on this list to get a clear idea of how many to reorder. Then next time around the people on this list will have first dibs. So if you're at an international, other side of the world from Chicago time and you'd like a booklet next time around hopefully this will guarantee you get a chance. Holy Crap!!! ok, we're sold out. Thank you all so so much! I can't even say how thrilled I am! I'm overwhelmed actually and definitely taken by surprise. I hope anyone isn't too disappointed if they missed out. I will definitely have more printed up. Maybe I can set up a mailing list for those still interested. Let me talk with my tech staff.

I've been on pins and needles waiting for the pattern book to arrive. Isn't that a charming way to describe how nervous and batty I've really been. I was obsessively clicking the UPS tracking all day yesterday and then finally they magically appeared on the porch late in the afternoon. Yippee! I can't believe they're finally here and that the pages are together in the correct order and everything. I've been so excited to get a chance to use my new thank you cards and "happy sewing" stamp. Soon hopefully! Save your Hamiltons :)
The Wee Wonderfuls Put-Together Book No. 1 for Kitty, Bunny and Bear will go on sale in the shop tomorrow, Thursday at 10am CST, run of 250, $10.

Ok. That was fun. Despite the drudgery of bubble jet set and the agony that is our printer, still so much fun! So this is the fabric design of mine that I mentioned last week for my finish what you started quest. It was one of the 4 or 5 sketches I came up with trying to design a fabric line in one sitting by looking around the apartment for inspiration. As you can see a Shaker Workshops catalog was laying around. Here's my original sketch. After pulling it into Illustrator and playing around with it Tim thought it'd look cool all jammed up and with more objects. So I did a few more drawings and then Tim monkeyed with it until he got a repeat that works. Again, so handy that guy. And here it is fresh off the printer!
And here's the little bag I made with it.
It really does feel good to go back and finish up an abandoned project. Now maybe I'll tackle the 10 year quilt. ha.

I just put the finishing touch, a first place ribbon, on the latest big footed bunny. She's what they call a horse girl. Coincidentally, a fellow equestrian is talking shop today so fittingly this bunny shall be named Alicia Bunny.
