dresses

In further preparation for having a new baby girl in the family I picked up this book at Mitsuwa a few weeks ago (ISBN 4-579-11091-9). She’d better be a dress girl!

adorable. I used to love to wear dresses that my mom made me when I was a little girl. She made the best sundresses in the summer for me. My fav – this deep purple one that tied on the shoulders with white accent ribon at the high waist. Saw a similar style in a store recently and was taken back to that dress. I love that!

Those are so sweet I think I actually had stuff like that as a kid. My mom sewed for all three of us girls. To bad my girl is a little tom boy;)

Ooooooooooohhhhhh….. I have to have that book. Those dresses would so suit my daughter. I tried looking up the ISBN number on Amazon, but I only got astronomy books. Is there a title in English that I could search on?

Lovely dresses! Too bad my sister had a boy. 🙂
I`ve been reading your blog for a while, catching up, and it`s become one of my favourites. Thanks for making me (and many others) smile each time I check Wee Wonderfuls! It really is full of wonderful things.

i like the idea that she could be a dress over pants kind of girl as some of the photos show…still girly but much easier to get down and dirty. 🙂

[First photo.] Now, my hair looks just like that. My expression looks just like that.

Oh I love the third picture down! I hope I have a daughter when I have kids just so I can dress her like that.. feminine & practical.. with personality! Now I want to play with playdough.. I seem to be regressing a lot lately, heh =)

“what is the name of that store off of golf rd. that sells these japanese craft books?”
    anyone?
Mitsuwa at Golf and Algonquin. I always go when I’m in town visiting my grandma. It’s also in stock right now at yesasia.com.
Darn them all for not making an equally adorable little boy’s pattern book! Mommies of boys can relate, right?

As of today with the birth of twin nephews this morning, the official count is now 6 boys in the next generation of our combined families, including our own two. We’re all counting on my SIL to give us a girl in November, but if she doesn’t then I’ll just have to wait for grandchilren to make such sweet things as those dresses, or else start sewing and knitting for near strangers.
It makes me crazy to see cute girl stuff like that, even making me ache sometimes.
