My birthday present from Tim was a trip to Mitsuwa to buy some Japanese treats. I found myself this time veering away from the usual suspects. I'm starting to feel like if you've seen one Cotton Friend you've seen them all. Good thing since I only have one. Anyway.. not knowing what I was looking for I tripped upon some really great books. Definite departures for me. As the sun cooperates I'll take some pics. I got some of this one yesterday, Dolls' House Dolls. (ISBN4-529-04200-6)

I debated buying this one for quite a while but in the end I knew if I'd left it behind I'd keep thinking about it. It's not really my style, lots of victorian and rococo, but I love it. The dolls are amazing. So beautiful and detailed. And I love all the set ups in the book. Dolls in frames, shallow little dollhouses, dolls performing on tiny stages...

Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to get out the clay and have a try at one of these.
