amox upon this house

Oscarsspotsfading

This is the baby I woke up to this morning. I’m so excited because since Tuesday morning he’s been this baby. The baby that’s allergic to amoxicillin. The baby that needs to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night because he’s being so quickly enveloped in the pox. Around here it’s the cure that will kill you. The spots are less fierce, as the ER doc called them, in the morning and then get worse during the day. I’m hoping this new look will stick so I can take him out in the world without fear of ostracization. Don’t want him labeled as that speckled kid.

Now that I don’t have spots to record I think I’ll go take photos of all the fun mail I’ve received lately.

Oscar is co cute. Keep him away from those doctors and their cures.
Oscar will let you know when he’s not your baby any more; till then, enjoy.

Poor baby. And poor mommy too I’ll venture. He looks much better and so cute. 🙂 I have to stay away from the dreaded amoxocillin too – nasty stuff!

i just had a really bad reaction to my pain meds for my tonsillectomy. who ever thought that pain meds could be a bad thing?
glad to see that your little trooper is feeling better.

Those were some really fierce spots. Glad to see Oscar’s feeling better!
Taking antibiotics always makes me nervous, especially after a really bad reaction to a med that worked fine for me in the past.

Awwwww….. What a cute pic of Oscar! I can sympathize with his spots. I discovered a little over a year ago that I had the same reaction to amoxicillin. I shudder just thinking about it. Glad he’s back to normal!

poor little guy. i am glad to see that he is on the mend. my little sister would break out in hives like that with sulfa drugs. yuckers. oh, and the wee little clothespin dolls are very cute!

My DS had this type of reaction (something like erythema multiforme?) to amoxicillin, also. We were seeing a very new, very young-looking pediatrician while ours was out, and he came rushing into the room with a medical book in hand, saying “I know what it is!” Not very confidence inspiring!! I hope your sweet boy is spot-free and feeling better.

I was wondering if you had any pictures of his hives/reaction. Our son keeps getting these little white things with red around them and I can’t find any pictures this kind of thing on the internet. He just started an antibiotic on his eyes. Thanks…
